Largest Losers Cross Another Milestone

Despite being significantly understaffed this week (you know who you are Spring Breakers) the 14 participants who made it in this week came up BIG!  Dan slammed home a 4.8# weight loss, Kathy bested last week’s 3.6# with another 3.8# this week, Roy posted an even 3, and Erin nonchalantly dropped another 2.8#. 

But let’s discount Stephanie, Susanne, Francesca, and Henry’s efforts, as they each came in with over 1# this week as well.

“Finally!  Track 2 gets some solid recognition!” Tom Said after the weigh in.  “We’ve seen some pretty amazing efforts from this group, but for 8 people to lose 21# (1.4%).... in week 10?  That’s definitely the most impressive effort thus far in the program.”  

The Milestone:  In 10 weeks you have posted exactly 400 pounds of weight loss

We could write all day about how you’ve done it, why you’ve done it, and how proud of you we are…but we’re going to let your after pictures do the talking because the bottom line is that:
In 10 weeks, you have lost 400 pounds!!  

Nutrition Notes:
This week featured a guest speaker from our individual weight loss program.  Sal weighed in before the group Saturday and has posted 61.4# of weight loss since starting with First Health’s Weight Loss Program.  Sal discussed his story and offered suggestions and tips to the group and was happy to answer a wide range of questions from other participants.   Tom reports that “I Love guest speaker week!  Not because I get a week off from speaking—but because they get a week off from hearing me speak J  Seriously though, I believe it’s a huge part of the program because we have the opportunity to bring in an actual weight loss specialist—someone who’s doing it the right way and has lived it first-hand.  Nothing I can teach can compare to the information that Sal gave them today.  He’s an inspiration to me and I know he inspired a couple of others today.”  

Exercise Notes:  
We keep getting wind of harder workouts, longer workouts, and even some 2-a-days.  We love to see the hard work but as a friendly reminder remember that the absolute number 1 goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle, so don’t try to squeeze out one more pound at the expense of your health.

Behavioral Notes:
Tom, Dr. Nick, and Katrina had a rare moment to conference Saturday afternoon and highlighted some of the amazing changes that people have made through 10 weeks.  “What impresses us is big change” Katrina says.  “That doesn’t always correlate to how much weight a person has lost, but our ‘big changers’ know who they are and so do we.”  Well, the foundation for change has been set and your job is to cap those changes off in the next 2 weeks so that they become not what you do… but who you are.
