Courtney Day brings a new dynamic to the First Health Wellness and Physical Medicine Departments as an Exercise Physiologist and Certified Personal Trainer. Having graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, she understands that human performance is much more than being able to do a few push-ups or jog on a treadmill. Optimal physical fitness is achieved by enhancing strength, flexibility, endurance, cardiac output, respiratory reserve and nutrient processing. Designing a fitness program capable of changing the course of one’s health requires close monitoring of all physiological systems coupled with training strategies that enhance personal function and performance. Courtney integrates her vast knowledge of human physiology into her carefully planned workouts to obtain optimum results. The job of today’s exercise physiologist is to not only enhance performance but to direct life-changing outcomes.

Courtney serves as an integral part of our Wellness Program Team. Courtney’s educational and past clinical background allow her the ability to work closely with our medical, nutritional, and behavioral staff in designing comprehensive wellness programs. Each program is designed to achieve predetermined personal health goals of which she structures the exercise portion.

Courtney develops exercise routines according to the clients’ present fitness level. If necessary, she can work closely with our medical physicians and physical therapists reviewing current and recurrent injuries and designing injury specific programs. Courtney not only caters to those who are looking to increase performance and improve appearance, but also to those wanting to improve the quality of their life, increase longevity, strengthen bone mass, or even prevent future injury.

  • Personal Training
  • Injury Rehabilitation/Prevention
  • Sports Performance Enhancement

  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation

As part of our commitment to hire only the brightest and best physicians, therapists and health specialists, we welcome Courtney to our team.
