“Interesting” an Understatement?
February Losers you keep us on our toes. Could someone please explain how an “It Starts With Us” player can gain weight every week while “Going for Gold” keeps losing people to Track 2 who put up pretty solid numbers? This week we saw Cindy and Diane carry the team with 3 and 3.8# respectively. Mike followed his astounding 9# week 2 with another 2# and Bob chipped in with 2.8#, Barb posted 2.2# and Cliff shed another 1.8# as the group is already closing in on 100# of weight loss (currently at 95#).
Nutrition Notes:
Tom has met with everyone for their initial nutrition instruction and is quite impressed. “Everyone in this program is thirsty for knowledge. If someone has never discussed nutrition before, they’re dying to get the basics down, while those who have been studying nutrition recreationally want to get into discussions about nutritional biochemistry—I LOVE THESE GUYS!”
Exercise Notes:
Steve and Courtney send over a similar report as Tom. “We have a really wide range of fitness levels and capabilities in this program but every single one of them work their butts off and can’t wait to break through to the next level” Steve reports.
Chiro Notes:
Dr. Nick addressed the group this week with his class titled “Injury Prevention.” He discussed a wide range of considerations from proper foot wear, to inflammation, to the ever important question—what is the difference between sore muscles following a good workout and muscle pain that indicates there is a problem? As he discussed, delayed onset muscle soreness is a good indicator that you challenged your body, but pain that continues at rest and lasts 3 days or more indicates “pathology.” In other words, when in doubt, get it checked out.
Bottom Line:
Great Job through 3 weeks! Some of you are ahead of the curve and some of you need some additional support. Whatever group you fall into please don’t hesitate to take advantage of the support at your fingertips. Your trainers, Dietitian, Counselor, Doctor, and Chiropractors are here to take you as far as you want to go with this… now it’s up to you!
